I obtained my PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) of the University of Lisbon in 2013. My PhD research project was conducted under the supervision of professor Leonel Sousa resulting in the thesis entitled "High-Performance and Embedded Systems for Cryptography". I am currently a Postdoctoral researcher at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, NY, USA, mainly working in code generation and optimization for high-performance computing. My research interests include compiler optimization, computer arithmetic and architecture. I am also interested in algorithms for security applications and cryptography.
